The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is a strictly enforced program mandate explicitly outlined in the district's Three-Year Plan. It serves as the vital bridge between our Multilingual Learner (ML) families and school leadership.
Staff Attendance Mandate: Attendance at all three annual PAC meetings is strictly mandatory for all ESL and bilingual staff. These are not optional events, and effort should be demonstrated to encourage parents to be partake in PACs.
Family Advocacy: The PAC provides a formalized platform to amplify the voices of ML families. It ensures that their opinions, concerns, and programmatic suggestions reach campus and district administrators directly.
Targeted Parent Engagement: The committee is responsible for designing and executing events and workshops that actively integrate ML families into the broader academic and social life of the school community.
Cultural Awareness & Integration: The PAC leads initiatives and celebrations that foster a deep, school-wide understanding and respect for the diverse languages, backgrounds, and cultures represented within our district.
To maintain state compliance and ensure robust family partnership, every campus must host three formalized PAC meetings throughout the academic year.
Compliance & Tracking Note: For every scheduled meeting, campuses are legally required to maintain official rosters that distinctly track exactly which Families are attending and which Staff are attending.
